Kinderworld teachers and parents had no real way to follow how an individual child was getting on. Supervising a room full of five-year-olds is not the same as knowing what any one of them has actually understood, and by the time it reached a parent conversation it came out as impressions rather than evidence.
The children had nothing either. Play sat in one place and learning sat in another, and neither knew anything about the other.
what it does
KinderBuddy puts both on the same surface. A child plays, and the playing is the lesson — so the app is watching real activity rather than asking a kindergartener to sit a test. That activity is what teachers and parents then see, as progress rather than as a score.
Built for Kinderworld specifically, not as a general-purpose product. Knowing the curriculum and the age range means the app can be opinionated about what matters instead of configurable about everything.
why gemini
The hard part of this is not generating content, it’s reading a trail of small interactions and saying something a teacher would agree with. Gemini has held up well on that education-shaped reasoning — turning what a child did into insight worth putting in front of an adult, which is a different job from answering a question.
